(Cell, Vol. 123, 569–580; November 18, 2005) We, the editors of Cell, were contacted by a concerned reader regarding duplication in Figure 2 above paper. Dr. John Blenis, corresponding author, determined that error was introduced during revision manuscript. In preparing final version 2B, panel showing results for eIF3b mislabeled as HA (S6K1) lysate. A different exposure panels published Figures 2C and 2D then mistakenly used eIF3b, resulting duplication. The authors no longer have access to original data lysate 16 years ago, consequence, Correction is not possible. Given age paper does compromise conclusions paper, based on information available us at this time, we believe further action warranted. mTOR S6K1 Mediate Assembly Translation Preinitiation Complex through Dynamic Protein Interchange Ordered Phosphorylation EventsHolz et al.CellNovember 2005In BriefIn response nutrients, energy sufficiency, hormones, mitogenic agents, phosphorylates several targets linked translation. mTOR and S6K1 Mediate Assembly of the Translation Preinitiation Complex through Dynamic Protein Interchange and Ordered Phosphorylation Events
In response to nutrients, energy sufficiency, hormones, and mitogenic agents, S6K1 phosphorylates several targets linked to translation. However, the molecular mechanisms whereby S6K1 is activated, encounters substrate, and contributes to translation initiation are poorly understood. We show that mTOR and S6K1 maneuver on and off the eukaryotic initiation factor 3 (eIF3) translation initiation ...
متن کاملconstruction and validation of the translation teacher competency test and the scale of students’ perceptions of translation teachers
the major purpose of this study was to develop the translation teacher competency test (ttct) and examine its construct and predictive validity. the present study was conducted in two phases: a qualitative phase as well as a quantitative phase. in the first phase of the study, the author attempted to find out the major areas of competency required for an academic translation teacher. the second...

the relation between bilingualism and translation: a case study of turkish bilingual and persian monolingual translation students
translation studies have become an accepted academic subject and books, journals and doctoral dissertations appear faster than one can read them all (bassnet and lefevere, 1990). but this field also brought with itself so many other issues which needed to be investigated more, in the heart of which, issues like ideology, ethics, culture, bilingualism and multilingualism. it is reported that ove...
on translation of phatic communion and socio-cultural relationships between the characters of the novels
phatic communion is a cultural concept which differs across cultures. according to hofstede (2001), the u.s. tends to have individualistic culture; however, asian countries tend to have collectivistic cultures. these cultures view phatic communion differently. in individualistic cultures like u.s., phatic communion reflects speakers’ socio-cultural relationships in conversations. to see whether...
